True Blue

I went to lunch with Tom my co-worker. We always have good laughs over a beer. I told him I've decided to stay with the company if they will meet my reasonable proposal for a small increase and unpaid leave whenever I want to take it. I am trying to focus on quality of life and reject "opportunities" that might undermine the goal. Tom is normally an ebullient and unflappable fellow and I was surprised by his unabashed reaction of happiness that I was staying. Contrary to our rigid rules, he bought my lunch.
