Reclamation

My cohort and I drove to the Gas Hills to check on some mine reclamation. It looks impressive in that one would not know there were open pits in this area twenty years ago. What a fine job these responsible mining companies have done, if I don't say so myself as an employee of one. In this area there is still dirt moving activity contouring old pit slopes and one is prudent to yield the right of way.

Granite from the mountain in the background contributed to reclamation elsewhere. It now takes on the image of a washboard and provides an intriguing vista for the rare traveler of this lonesome back road.
