Sunday we enjoyed a tasty breakfast at the VFW benefit for the Humane Society. We sat down with Gus' sister and her husband. She told us about a trip to Houston for a conference that she had to abort because she got the date wrong on her reservation (using Expedia.com). It was a $500 mistake - no refund, and to get on the intended flight would have been $500 more. It was a school district expense but I think she took it out of her own pocket. She is a principled principal.
Out in the parking lot there was a note on the Beemer - "Sorry, I hit your car" with a name and telephone number. Someone had strafed the left front bumper and headlamp. That put a damper on the conversation - not a word spoken until we got home. Only 265 miles on the odometer. The repair estimate is $2,500.
