Old Growth Lilacs

I had no plan to do so Sunday but there was one dead lilac that was teetering like a loose tooth. So began the old growth removal project. The first one was so easy I started rocking another one a little further down the line. The next required moving straps for leverage. The next one was more troublesome yet so I used a tow chain linked to the apple tree cushioned with a rug. Now were cooking! The stumps toward the street were not so rotted at the base so I enlisted the big cottonwood tree and a come-a-long. The only thing that ended this runaway was a full pickup.
