Two turkeys made a raid on the garden yesterday morning. No, this is not normal for the downtown area. Food prices must be getting high for them too. There is a city park where Garden Creek runs through several blocks away and we've seen turkeys there once. They must have gotten the word that Dix is pretty generous with bird and squirrel seed.
The leader squtted down to guage the height of the patio awning. He had no trouble flapping up to the higher vantage point. He looked pretty reagle up there. Then they headed down the alley side by side turning other heads and filling up camera cards I'm sure.
We're taking a few two days off to see our neice graduate from high school in Bettendorf, Iowa. The Chicago clan will meet us there for a mini-reunion.
