New Improved Pyrite
Well yes she's only got one eye, and that one is blind, but she's still our beautiful kitty cat. There's something about the dependency that makes her a better companion. She no longer hides under the bed. I don't think she's afraid of low places. She just thinks she's invisible wherever she sits now. Without sight, she seems to have lost her inclination to flee. She knows her way from the potty box end of the house to the food dish end, and has it mapped out well enough to course with dignity around the various obstacles in between. She climbs up on the couch and no longer gets down when we join her. She still flicks her tail to taunt my attention and then snarls when I grab it, over and over. I'm going to build a step up to our high bed. Dix will like that too. With every catastrophe there is a silver lining. But complications too. The few times she has peed before learning where her potty box is, has inspired Spook to likewise mark his territory. The Bissell Carpet Cleaner has been working overtime until we get this settled.
