Golfing

Got the old sticks out and played a couple of rounds of golf with Ken. He usually finishes his day at 2 p.m. and with the weather so mild, it was great to get out and get some exercise. The Three Crowns Golf Course is the best kept secret deal in town. For $22.50 you can play nine holes with a golf car and practically have the whole course to yourself. Only lost four balls the first day. Tried it again the following week and lost no ball that was not replaced by finding someone else's.

We have been walking Hallie's Brittany Spaniels while she was visiting her mother somewhere back east. I have a little responsibility for Sebastian since I encouraged her to adopt him from the Humane Society. We would have taken him but it was too close to when we lost our last Brittany Penny. Sebastian is fun to walk because he is charging full bore all the time - land and river. I am trying to teach him to heel but he does not yet get the connection between pulling against the collar and choking to a gag.

Delores was in town for an eye appointment and stayed with us overnight. We had a pleasant time at Old Chicago where Delores discovered Pyramid Apricot Beer. She and Dix got a pretty good buzz on. She was a little tentative the next morning on the dog walk at this park where dogs are permitted to run free. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming. Maybe there was a hangover too.

Happy Grandparents' Day to all us old timers.
