I downloaded a fascinating free astronomy program from www.stellarium.org/. Having just read Carl Sagan's The Varieties of Scientific Experience, it helped with a craving to go star gazing until the weather clears up.
Again hiding from the wind, Dix and I watched three Netflix movies. Hairspray, with John Travolta playing an overweight mother, we thought might be a neat 30-year follow-up of Grease. It was ten years too early. The Sheltering Sky with Debra Winger and John Malkovich was was obscure and drawn out, so that we had to read the reviews for the parts we slept through. Finally Magnifico a foreign film story about impoverished family life in the Phillipines was so drawn out and melodramatic I had to put it two clicks fast forward to get through it. We had to use English captions anyway and the sped up musical score was not hurt any either.Pyrite the cat is going stir crazy.
