At Risk

The pets love their pre-dawn exercise in the side yard - stalking bugs, mice and each other. One or both of us need to watch over Milo since his boundaries are not totally learned yet. Today's sunrise was colorful with pink and gray clouds. A full size Great Horned Owl surprised us gliding ten feet overhead . His wingspan seemed to barely clear between the chimney and the power pole across the street. Milo continued to explore in blissful ignorance.

Having lost this entire year's gain in the retirement savings in one week, I'm receptive to more consulting work if it comes.

Meanwhile my 40-hour week is busy painting the weathered backside of the garage, cosmetically replumbing the gas line to the boiler, and radically pruning the fire blight out of one of the apple trees. Today I an enlisting the services of a mason to patch and regrout the chimney that seems to be compromised on three sides. That is one skill I totally concede to the professionals.
